Smart, Smart Boy!

I am so amazed at how quickly Leland picks up on things. He LOVES to help and is not happy until you let him help you with whatever it is you are doing....laundry, cooking, sweeping, vacuuming, etc.

Even though we are looking to put Leland back into a Mother's Day out program, he is currently not in school. I do take time every day to color, work on numbers, ABC's, etc. with him.

Just this past week, he has picked up on all the opposites like:
me and you
up and down
open and close

He has known what these words mean for a while now, but he has started using them correctly in sentences over the past week.

We stayed with GiGi and Pap a few days over the weekend because I have a pinched nerve in my back that is radiating pain down to my right hip. While there, Leland was helping get the canned goods out of the pantry for dinner. All of the sudden, plain as day, he counted 1-7 all by himself with no help!

He also loves to listen to the ABC song on a cd in my car. He tries his best to say them, but he can only get a few letters at a time in a row for now. He loves to sing and dance and knows all the motions to the itsy bitsy spider, the hokey pokey, and patty cake. We watch cartoons a good bit at night and in the morning and he has started singing along with the shows, picking out the right objects they are asking for, and participating when the cartoon ask them to do something.

Time has flown by over the past 2 1/2 years and I can't believe how smart my little guy is getting!
