Bachelorette Fun!

I have been planning my best friend Stacy's Bachelorette party for months now! We finally had the party last weekend and everyone had so much fun!

I, unfortunately, was not able to have as much fun as I would like on a girls night out! I spent all last week in and out of the doctors office having test ran on my chest and heart. I was diagnosed with a bad case of pericarditis, which is inflamation of the lining of the heart. Basically, it feels like I have taken multiple Mucinex and over dried my chest, so it is very difficult to breath and is painful. Even though I had this going on, I meant that come hell or high water, I was having Stacy's party since I had people driving in from all over! It actually worked out for the best because I was able to drive the party van that we rented, so it was much cheaper than the cab option we were going to do!

I am feeling a little better this week, but it will take several weeks on medicine to get over this annoying condition!!

I did a theme of all pink and black. We all had crowns and light up rings to wear and of course decked Stacy out from head to toe in Bachelorette attire! I had a custom cake made to match the gown on her invites. Summer Thomas of Summer's Cakes did and AMAZING job with our strawberry cake! You can check her out on facebook.

I am so glad Stacy had such a good time and can't wait to be in the wedding on 10-10-10! Congratulations Stacy and Jason!!

The weather was so beautiful that I set up tables out back!

I did a fajita bar and yummy margaritas!!

Koozie's I made for all the girls!
In case you are wondering, Jason and Leland went to the Bass Pro Shop and had dinner while we did the lingerie shower. They came back home to finnish watching the AU and GA game with us just in time to take pictures before we headed out to see the wonderful Hunter Lawley Band!!

Pictures from my phone...

I do not have my camera with me some times, so I have snapped several shots with my phone. Below you will see Leland's first finger painting! His teacher Mrs. Rebecca helped him make this master piece in school last week for their bulletin board!

Trying to put on my sun glasses!

Helping make the bed!
When we travel, Dutchess rides in the back seat with Leland. The past 2 or 3 trips, this is how they wind up...

Driving the cart at Publix

Driving Mommy's car (Can you see a theme?! He LOVES to act like he's driving and make car noises!)

1st Zoo Trip!

YAY!! We're at the Zoo!

The Gorilla was so funny! He kept walking from side to side and would stop to pose for a picture!

To say that Leland loved the train ride is a huge under statement!! He was ecstatic to be riding on the train!!

We walked right into the area where the Kangaroos were and walked almost right up to them (no barrier between us). They were just being lazy and didn't have a care in the world that people were that close to them!

Thank the Lord for popsicles with a teething baby!!

Leland has 1 top back tooth and 2 bottom back teeth coming in all at the same time. Bless his heart! He is miserable at times! We keep a stock of teething tablets, Motrin, and banana popsicles! These new teeth make a total of 5 up top and 6 on the bottom!

Her is an update on all your new stuff Leland! You are saying a few new words, even though "Sissy" is you favorite! You can now say:
-Hey!
-Bye instead of Bye, Bye
-trees
-you make car noises ALL the time and loves your trucks. You push them all around the house while making a car noise!
-fish (sounds like ish!)

You are also starting to recognize what things are. You know where your snacks and cups are, and sit under the counter or at the pantry door and point going Uh, Uh, Uh. I say what you want and you can tell you want to say the word back to me, but can't quite get it out just yet! You also knows what truck, train, bye bye, ball, etc. are. So smart!!
Some may say you are picky, but I say you are very peculiar! You can tell the difference between everything on your dinner plate. If I try to give you a bite of something and you wanted something else, you are very quick to hold your hand up to the fork and will continue to do this until I get the right food on the fork!
You are still the sweetest little boy ever! We love watching you grow and literally learn something new every day!!

Corn Lover!

Leland is going to have a love for corn like all the rest of us in the family! Jason and I watched a movie while eating dinner last night, so we put him in his portable high chair in the floor with us. Leland had his first experience with corn on the cob Labor Day weekend and liked it, so I fixed more for dinner.

He ate a good bit of chicken and biscuit as well, but he sat for a solid hour gnawing on a corn cob! He ate all the corn off of one end of the cob, so I tried to show him how to turn it around to get more. He was not a happy camper that I was touching his corn!!

New Trick!

GiGi came to hang out with us for a little while today. She mentioned Leland's car as they were standing by the garage door and he immediately started making car noises! We brought the car inside and he had such a big time! The money we paid for this car is by far well worth it!

GiGi pushed him up and down the hall at least 100 times. He waved and said either, "Hey" or "Bye" each time he passed the sewing room! He also learned a new trick of getting in and out of his car by himself! We laughed all afternoon at him!!

He wanted his blankie and his monkey to ride with him as he was pushed!

At first he figured out how to get in backwards! After several attempts, he has figured out how to hop right in! I did notice that he is more than likely going to be right handed. He got in the car by using his right leg first much better than using his left leg, hence why he was getting in backwards!

He just bails out!

Ready for Fall!

We are SO ready for Fall! I love everything about Fall...football, mums, colorful leaves, all the smells, and the Holidays! I can't wait to go to the pumpkin patch in October, but I think we already have the best pumpkin in the patch this season!

1st Day of Mother's Day Out!!

Leland started MDO yesterday! It is at a Church and he will be going on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-1:30. I have gotten so busy with the business, that it was getting impossible to watch him every day of the week plus work on orders. I have been up until 3 or 4 in the morning probably 10 of the past 14 days and am going through 15+ yards of broad cloth a week! That's pretty busy when you have a little crawler to watch while you work! You can see some of my latest projects at: http://www.lilmonkeydesigns.blogspot.com

I took Leland yesterday and he went straight to Mrs. Rita. He has his blankie in hand. I pack his lunch and she said he ate well. She said that he did not cry the entire time. He fell asleep as she rocked him, but as soon as she laid him down, he woke up and was ready to go! I walked in to her pushing Leland and the other little boy in a double stroller around the indoor track. I picked him up out of the stroller and when we walked back into the room to get his bag, he kept pointing at the floor going uh, uh, uh...he was trying to show me his new truck he played with that day!

He was passsed out before I even got half way home and the Church is only 10 minutes from the house! I took him in and put him in his bed and he slept til 4. This is going to work out great! I will hopefully have 2 full working days and hopefully get back on a regular sleeping routine!

Labor Day Weekend!
