We CAN NOT believe that our little angel is 6 months old! He is growing and changing so fast. I have absolutely enjoyed every minute of being able to stay at home with him. He is the sweetest baby and it is a lot of fun seeing the world through his eyes and seeing how he learns new things.
I took him for his 6 month check-up on Wednesday and he is still perfectly healthy. He weighs 20 lbs 12 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long.
He is starting to learn how to sit up, however, he loves to sit there for a minute and throw himself backwards! I don't know where he learned it from because we don't hold him upside down or anything. He will be sitting up all on his own within the next month for sure.
He has learned how to hold his cup and is starting to like whats inside. He loves that it is cold on his little toothless gums, but is not so sure about juice!
He is also starting to hold his own bottle. He can hold it really well when it only has a little bit in it, but is still working on it while full! He knows EXACTLY what his bottle is and that it goes in his mouth!
He has pretty much given up on sucking on a paci. It has now turned into a teether (which is perfectly fine with me!) He loves to chew on it. Speaking of teething....I am pretty sure he is teething now. He has been overly cranky since yesterday and that is not like him at all. He also loves to chew on stuff and seems to calm down after I apply orajel. The doctor said he should have one or two bottom teeth by 7 months (usually).
He has learned to squeal LOUD!
He wants to talk so badly, but can't just yet. He loves to watch you talk to him and move his mouth while he tries so hard to speak. I'm afraid that we will never get him to be quiet when he starts!!
He still will not roll over. He doesn't really care to be on his Tummy, but I put him on it anyways, but he means he's ready to get up when he's ready!
I did notice the other day that he apparently learned how to scoot on his back. I put him on his play mat in the middle and when I came back in the room he was all the way at the top. He must have thought he did something big because his head was partially covered up with his blanket and his little eyes were staring at me as he laughed out loud!
He will be a year old before we know it! I can't wait to see what all he learns in the next 6 months!
