Mommy's Weekend in Nashville!

Early last Saturday morning, I headed on the 3 hour ride in the rain to Nashville...childless and husbandless! It was great to get away for 2 days to myself and I forgot how therapeutic a 3 hour car ride by yourself can be! I mean I actually listened to what I wanted to listen to, didn't have a child singing in the back seat, didn't have to listen to kids cds or movies, and I sang as loud as I wanted to....but I must admit about half way in, I was ready to get there RIGHT THEN!

I was making the drive to attend one of my very best friends baby shower. Danni is expecting her 2nd little boy in mid Feb. Baby G got tons of cute stuff and it was great to see everyone.

Instead of driving up and driving right back home, I stayed with my other best friend and old College roommate, Ashley. She to lives in Nashville. The shower was a few blocks away from the Neely's BBQ restaurant...you know the Neely's from the Food Network. Ashley and I stopped in for dinner and it was DELISH!

(can't get pics to arrange right...this was my view on the ride up Saturday morning)

We split the BBQ nachos and each had a sandwich. It was A LOT of food, but it was SO good! The coleslaw on the BBQ sandwich was some of the best I have every had.

This was the view from our table. Their restaurant is set in a perfect little spot, and I will for sure be returning the next time we are in town!

Warm January Days!

It sure was nice having a few warm days to play outside in January. It is bitterly cold outside this week and we have remained indoors the past 2 days.

Leland loves his new tractor and boots. He is such a little ham! He definitely knows how to relax, as you can see in the below picture....please note his hand in his pocket!

We took advantage of the warm weather and our Zoo membership. I took Leland to the Zoo to run some energy off.

The goats were munching on a Christmas tree.

Leland played on the drums...

And we finally got to feed the giraffe. Usually the line is way to long, but this time, the Zoo had very few people.

Having a Zoo membership is SO nice! It is a great place to get out of the house and to enjoy the fresh air....well if you don't mind smelling animals that is :)

About Me

My photo
Jason and I were married on March 1, 2008. We are each others best friend and wouldn't trade our lives for anything! Jason was born and raised in Newnan, GA and I was born and raised in Birmingham, AL where we now live. We have an awesome family that is always there for us. We had a beautiful baby boy, Leland Matthew, on July 22, 2009. He is now growing like a weed and so much fun! We have a very hectic life, but we love it! We take everything that God gives us and deal with it the best we can. We know he has a plan for our family and can't wait to see what the future brings!!
